Karpathos, Zakynthos, Rhodes, Crete, Kos – a world of endless summer: whitewashed houses, the sound of the sea, and sunshine. These islands are perfect for relaxation, a slow pace, and simple pleasures.

Family lunches in tavernas, where cats stroll lazily between tables, and the music and lively conversations mingle with the gentle sounds of ABBA in the background. In the charming towns, narrow streets hide little cafés and shops, and cats wander the stone squares as if they knew all the secrets of the island. There is no pressure here, no crowds, no rush – the main attractions are the azure water, soft sand, and the sun’s rays fading in a slow sunset.
Days pass on the beaches, in the water, or wandering through picturesque towns, where you can lose yourself in the simplicity and rhythm of island life.
These Greek islands have always reminded me of family vacations or relaxed trips with a friend. They are places where you can escape for a week to do nothing, rest, and fully unwind. Or rent a car and slowly explore the local towns, taking in the views, tasting the food, and soaking up the sun.
Greece has over 6,000 islands, of which around 227 are inhabited. Each has its own personality:

- Dodecanese: Rhodes, Kos – history, castles, ports, a bit less party-focused ?.
- Ionian Islands: Corfu, Zakynthos – green, peaceful, perfect for family vacations ?.
- Sporades: Skiathos, Skopelos – intimate, nature-filled, local vibe ?
Northern Aegean Islands: Lesbos, Chios – authentic, less touristy, rich in tradition and culture ?.
