Between Departures

My name is Iga Weiss

For as long as I can remember, my life has been connected to music and travel.
To doing homework backstage, where the sounds of rehearsals echoed through the walls.
To reading in the car.
To falling asleep to music on a plane.
To spending time with friends during trips and concerts.
But above all — it was always about the journeys.
In the beginning, not necessarily by choice.
Quietly following the stage lights and the road that always led somewhere.
It wasn’t always fun — being everywhere except home.
It was, however, always different.
Because even though I was gone so often, I always came back and lived as if nothing had changed — though, in truth, everything had.
It was hard to grow attached to places and people who kept changing.

But at some point, it stopped being an obligation or something unusual.
It became an extraordinary way of being and living.
Instead of just visiting — I began to live.

In every country I visited, I tried to find my favorite spots — not as a tourist, but as a local.
Instead of asking questions — I listened.
I was curious about the stories of strangers.
I treat every place as a kind of home.
With places I can return to.
With people I can talk to.

Every place teaches me something new — even that not all of them are for me.
And that I don’t have to like them all.

Travel has taught me patience, courage, and how to dream.
That sometimes you can forget the whole world while watching a sunset, and sometimes you can feel that world far too much.
That it’s worth meeting new people — and worth cherishing those you’ve known your whole life.
That you don’t have to choose between one and the other.

One day you might feel like having an elegant dinner — with soft music, calm conversation, and a peaceful atmosphere—
and the next, you might live through the wildest night of your life, where nothing is quiet or predictable, and there isn’t even time to blink.

The most beautiful things happen when you let them.
There are no perfect trips.
But there are ones that, years later, you remember with a smile.
Those are the ones that make up real life — the kind you can’t plan in Excel or fit onto a boarding pass.

This site is my little guide to those stories.
To the places that have stayed with me — or with the people close to me.
To the sounds, flavors, and scents.
To the memories that have left me with something far more valuable than a postcard.

My name is Iga, I’m 20 and I’ve already visited 45 countries.
Some of them I decided to describe here, doing my best.
From my perspective.
And with my favourite places.

I’ll be adding new entries, new cities, and new stories regularly.
I hope you stay here a while — and that you find something for yourself.

Very soon, there will be even more here:
?️ a shop with unique items,
?️ monthly articles about pop culture, fashion, trends, and what’s currently moving the world (and us),
? collaborations,
? guest posts and podcasts.

Stay curious. Stay wild.

Memories filter reality — they leave only the best moments, and the strangest stories become the ones we tell most often
